The Outsmarted Pro-D Series

As a classroom teacher and long-time member of Pro-D committees, I know just how busy school life can be. Sometimes, we simply wish someone else could do the planning for us. Now, here you go!

Based on the ideas in my book Outsmarted: The Changing Face of Learning in the Era of Smartphones and Technology, I’ve developed four complete, ready-to-run Pro-D sessions for educators who want to grow their practice and better connect with today’s learners in a rapidly changing world.

Each half-day session includes a full slide deck (75-100 slides, depending on the session), built-in activities, discussion prompts, and guided sketch note sheets to keep participants actively engaged. All you need is a facilitator to move the slides forward, lead the discussions, and the rest is done for you. (You’re welcome, Pro-D committees!)

Through practical strategies and research-based insights, educators will leave with new ways to structure lessons, improve focus and retention, and navigate the growing role of AI in education. The goal? To “outsmart” the educational challenges of today’s digital world and create classrooms where real learning happens.

*Each session in the Outsmarted Pro-D Series can be purchased as a stand-alone half-day workshop, perfect for a single Pro-D day. Schools also have the option to purchase multiple sessions together as a full series, providing ongoing professional learning and a cohesive approach throughout the year.
