PRESS & PLAY PRO-D

As a classroom teacher and long-time Pro-D committee member, I understand how much work goes into organizing meaningful professional development. I also know how difficult it can be to bring in outside speakers for every Pro-D day. The reality is that many schools simply do not have the budget for it. That’s the idea behind Press & Play Pro-D.

These fully developed professional learning sessions are designed to give schools a high-quality, engaging Pro-D experience without the cost and stress of building everything from scratch. Each session is created to be practical, facilitator-friendly, and ready to deliver with all materials included.

Each half-day session includes:

• Full presentation slide deck (80–100 slides)
• Facilitator notes and pacing guidance
• Interactive activities and discussion prompts
• Guided sketchnotes and participant handouts
• Ready-to-use materials for immediate implementation

A facilitator leads the session, but the planning, structure, and resources are already done for you.

The first Press & Play Pro-D Series, inspired by the ideas in Outsmarted: The Changing Face of Learning in the Era of Smartphones and Technology, focuses on helping educators navigate learning in today’s technology-saturated world. Sessions explore practical, research-informed strategies related to student focus, retention, engagement, smartphone use, attention, and the growing role of AI in education.
